Position Type:Classified Administrative/Safety and Security SupervisorDate Posted:4/14/2026Location:Administration CenterDate Available:07/01/2026TITLE: Safety and Security SupervisorREPORTS TO: Director of Safety and SecurityJOB SUMMARY: The Safety and Security Supervisor will be under the direction of the Director of Safety and Security, to support and ensure the district-wide safety and security protocols. This role will ensure that safety best practices are followed and will collaborate with school and district staff to maintain a secure and supportive environment for all students and staff. In the absence of the Director of Safety and Security, the Safety and Security Supervisor will serve as the acting Director, assuming full responsibility for safety and security operations in consultation with Superintendent or Designee.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :Co-chairs the District's Safety CommitteeServes as the liaison between District 365U and law enforcement, fire protection and emergency management agenciesEnsures a comprehensive plan for district and school safety is being implemented and work collaboratively with persons responsible for implementation of the planAssists in the development of training and drills for district buildings, maintains safety compliance, and conducts school safety inspectionsAttends meetings and conferences addressing issues affecting the safety of the school communityParticipates in district building health, life, safety evaluations, and risk analysisParticipates in the State required Annual Review Meeting for review of school safety plan protocols and proceduresCompletes District residency verifications; maintains records of residency cases at all stages of investigationCollaborates with district administration and Director of Safety and Security in regards to students who are chronically truant, and the tracking & reporting of chronically truant studentsAssists in the coordination and training of district security personnelAssists in the coordination and oversight of district security cameras and alarmsAssists in the communication with community stakeholder groupsServes as a role model for all students and perform their duties to create an environment that is conducive to providing students an enhanced and engaged learning opportunityQUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalentAssociates degree preferredEXPERIENCE 10 years experience in law enforcement or safety management, preferred.School Resource Officer experience, preferred.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Experience with NIMS (National Incident Command System)Knowledge of current trends in research and practices in public school safetyKnowledge of how to handle emergency situations and the ability to act in a crisisAbility to establish relationships with law enforcement, fire protection and emergency management agenciesEstablish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and community membersPromote school safety programs within school buildingsUse technology applications as specified by the DistrictBilingual preferredWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature, noise and hazards are relatively nonexistent. Work requires the employee to perform the following critical physical demands of the job: Ability to regularly talk, see, and hear,Ability to lift, pull, push, walk, stand, sit, and use of hands for fine manipulation during the normal performance of tasks and responsibilities.Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.Ability to travel from building to building and in the community as needed.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary is based upon LUDA market comparisons as determined by the Superintendent.
