Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Building Maintenance Specialist - HVAC. This position is responsible for maintaining existing plumbing, heating and cooling systems on the facilities and installing new systems according to state code. The position will report to the Assistant Director of Facilities Trades.
Responsibilities
Create estimates for new installations of HVAC equipment and plumbing systems.
Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade HVAC and plumbing systems.
Replace and maintain plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, etc.)
Track the service and inspection dates for air handlers, air compressors, HVAC pumps, chillers, A/C units, water softeners, food service equipment, etc.
Timely response to work orders.
Track project time, effort, and expenses.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
Requirements
EPA Refrigeration Certification is required or must be obtained.
Technical degree in HVAC or a related field is required.
State of South Dakota Plumbing or Electrical license is preferred.
1 - 3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to operate required equipment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Ability to work independently.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly.
Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
Deal tactfully and work effectively with others.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
