G2S Corporation is seeking a Senior Epidemiologist to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Senior Epidemiologist: Designs, plans, and initiates epidemiologic studies, surveys, and investigations. Participates in various aspects of the study or survey design process, including conducting a search or review of the existing literature and data in a specialty area, and preparing and/or presenting summaries for a variety of purposes. Conducts descriptive and complex analyses using statistical programs. Preferred programming languages include SAS, R, and python. Create reports and data visualization in various programs (e.g., R, SAS, Excel, Word, .NET, MS Access, SQL Server, Power BI, Tableau). Report types will be determined by the government based upon the system being utilized. Identify issues within the data systems (e.g., SQL, REDCap) or datasets (e.g., SAS,R, python) and document in a log Recommend and implement changes to databases to respond to evaluation findings and scientific analytic needs Maintain a data dictionary for all data files used to create reports, provide to CDC project team on a quarterly basis Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for data processing/post-processing, data management, and analyses Import and export data into a wide variety of file formats, including transposing data from ‘long’ to ‘wide’ and the reverse as appropriate for the type of data. Develop and implement solutions to address issues within the data systems or datasets and reflect the solution in the log Provide technical expertise on recipient and program efforts to advance interoperable standards and improve data infrastructure Ensure activities comply with CDC required confidentiality policies and procedures Qualifications: Advanced degree (master’s or higher) in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field At least 2 years of experience analyzing large and complex datasets using SAS, Stata, or R Ability to independently clean data and perform complex statistical analyses including survey methodology and multivariable modeling Ability to develop standard operating procedures and provide training on their use to public health scientists and clinical personnel Ability to work independently and efficiently in a team environment with support of supervisor and senior staff Excellent English writing abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; willingness to learn new software, including the preparation of analytic reports geared toward a public health and clinical audience, as well as peer-reviewed publications Excellent organizational and time management skills Experience with electronic health records data preferred Experience or interest in maternal and child health, substance use, and/or infectious diseases preferred Experience with advance analytics (e.g. machine learning) and software tools such as PowerBI preferred Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
