Job OverviewWe are seeking an APP to provide office-based care and see patients independently alongside collaborating physicians and APPs in our Cancer Center. Our APPs manage all aspects of urologic oncology including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, renal cancer, etc. APPs will manage cancer patients, with physician support, through diagnosis and discussion of treatment options, interpretation of ongoing labs and imaging, and management of cancer medications and related adverse events. We have a strong research program with 20+ clinical trials with APPs actively enrolling and monitoring patients.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological cancer knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriateAssess the patient's medical condition (prostate cancer, bladder cancer, renal cancer, etc.) by completion of a urological examinationDocument appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requestedOrder and evaluate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic testsPrescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on the patient's medical conditionDevelop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocolsOrder physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriatePerform cancer procedures in office setting (cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, etc.) as trained Requirements Required License/Experience/SkillsGraduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner ProgramLicensure in the state of Virginia
