This role will help drive NATOs transition to a data-driven organization, supporting enterprise data strategy, governance, and data-sharing initiatives across a complex, multinational environment. This is a unique opportunity to shape how data is managed, shared, and leveraged across NATO to enable advanced analytics, AI, and mission-critical decision-making. This opportunity requires a relocation to Brussels, Belgium.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate enterprise-level data-sharing initiatives, including federated data ecosystems and data catalog efforts Support development and execution of NATOs data governance framework (people, process, and technology) Maintain and evolve a Data Strategy Roadmap, including architectures, use cases, and milestones Provide data advisory support across initiatives such as data platforms, data catalogs, and data mesh approaches Gather requirements, document insights, and align technical and operational data strategies Lead project planning and execution, including timelines, resources, and deliverables Manage stakeholder engagement across technical teams, leadership, and external partners Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure alignment with enterprise goals Facilitate workshops and collaboration sessions to solve complex data challengesAs a candidate supporting NATO:Health and Social Insurance: Coverage through mandatory contributions to the national social security system, including health insurance, pension, unemployment, and family allowance benefits. Paid Leave Entitlements: Statutory annual leave, sick leave, and other types of leave as provided under applicable labor laws. The following arerequirementsof the Data Project Manager:U.S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport. Active DoD Secret Clearance or NATO Secret Clearance. 5 years of experience with a Bachelors degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 3 years of experience with a Masters degree; or 2 years of experience with a PhD. 5+ years of experience in digital transformation, with a focus on: Data Governance Data Management Data Engineering and/or Data Visualization Proven experience delivering data-focused projects within large, complex organizations Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English) The following arepreferredof the Data Project Manager:Experience working in NATO or similar multinational environments Familiarity with data platforms, data catalogs, and data-sharing ecosystems Experience with cloud platforms (commercial or on-prem) Knowledge of enterprise frameworks (TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT) Understanding of modern data architectures (e.g., data mesh) The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $140,000 $165,000 USD.
