As a Mechanical Assembler, you will play a critical part in the production of advanced pipeline inspection systems by assembling complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and cable harness sub-systems to exact specifications that meet rigorous industry standards.What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Technical OperationsAssemble components using hand and power tools per engineering drawings and work instructionsConduct functional and diagnostic testing using shop test equipmentTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on assemblies and equipmentPerform soldering operations to IPC and RoHS standardsHandle components using ESD protocols and proceduresExecute first article builds and support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)Perform assembly and repair tasks on both new and refurbished equipmentProduction Standards & PerformanceMeet defined takt times and assembly throughput targetsMaintain adherence to quality control standards during all phases of assemblyWork overtime as scheduled to meet production deadlinesMaintain consistent and reliable attendance per shift requirementsDocumentation and ComplianceAccurately complete work order documentation and quality formsFollow all applicable industry standards, safety protocols, and internal proceduresWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required Experience and EducationHigh School Diploma or EquivalencyAble to read mechanical assembly drawings and follow instructionsFastener/Hardware knowledgePreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMilitary, trade school or equivalent experience is preferred3 years' manufacturing experience, preferably in the assembly and/or service of automated equipment or machinery.Education & CertificationsHigh School Diploma or EquivalencyMilitary, trade school or equivalent experience is preferredTravel & Working Environment6:00AM - 2:30PM Monday - Friday; Overtime required based on manufacturing needsMust be able to lift 60 lbs.Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to wear appropriate PPE for various jobsHow we live our cultureOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
