Discover your next career opportunity now!Position OverviewWe are looking to fill a need for a Staff Platform Engineer located on-site in Herndon, VA. You will be working closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to grow and hone your skills with other talented members at ARKA. Our ideal candidate is an Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer who is a hard charging self-starter that can come onto a team and begin to produce quickly. You should have a basic understanding of Kubernetes, AWS, containerization, automated test, and deployment pipelines.We offer generous relocation benefits for eligible candidates.In support of work/life balance, many positions are available for a flexible schedule within the pay period. Ask us about the opportunity for flex scheduling if that’s of interest to you.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field8+ years of Infrastructure/DevOps experienceDemonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and engage with virtual or remote teamsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong understanding of Kubernetes and deploying applications to Kubernetes clustersExperience with using Helm charts to deploy software to Kubernetes clusters (ie. Argo CD)Strong experience with at least one of the major cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Github Actions, etc)Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, GitHub workflows)IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP+)Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with Fully Adjudicated Full Scope PolygraphPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodologyExperience with container tools (Docker, Podman) and container orchestrationExperience delivering microservices in Kubernetes-based systemsExperience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)Basic understanding of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana or similarLocation: Herndon, VAHerndon offers a charming blend of small-town ambiance and modern conveniences.
