Basic FunctionProvide for the safety of spectators, participants and staff involved in aquatic activities. Provide support for office and perform clean-up of pool and locker room areas.SALARY: 2AREPORTS TO: Aquatics ManagerPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: NoneTypical Duties Enforce safety rules in a polite but consistent manner. Present aquatic instructional programs to a wide variety of community members, using a prepared lesson plan. Perform lifesaving and first aid procedures as appropriate for the situation. Provide routine clean-up, sanitizing and general maintenance in pool and locker room areas. Perform chlorine and pH water tests and document according to the test schedule. Provide office support including cash handling activities, make change and operate a credit card machine. Operate a cash register with a point of sale, checking in patrons, selling passes, creating accounts and keeping a tally sheet of users in the building.Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications Eighteen years of age at time of employment. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Upon Hire, must possess and maintain certification in Standard First Aid, Lifeguarding/Water Park Training, and CPR-PR as recognized by the American Red Cross (or equivalent). (ORIGINAL CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE PROVIDED ON FIRST DAY OF WORK). Must obtain within 180 days of hire and maintain Water Safety Instructor Certification afterwards. All qualified candidates must be able to demonstrate all lifesaving and first aid skills required by the position.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Applicant must have good communication skills with the ability to deal with the public in a pleasant, tactful and courteous manner. Able to operate a point-of-sale computer system.Other This position requires a criminal background investigation and fingerprinting.
