Senior Data Engineer

About the RoleOur client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in evaluating, modernizing, and enhancing its enterprise data platform. This position will help shape the organization's future data engineering strategy while designing scalable solutions that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex data challenges, influencing technology decisions, and mentoring other engineers.Location: Mequon, WI (Onsite)Job Type: Contract-to-HireResponsibilitiesDesign and build scalable enterprise data pipelines and integration solutions.Evaluate the current data engineering ecosystem and recommend improvements.Develop efficient ETL/ELT processes and optimize data movement.Assess cloud data platforms and recommend future-state technologies.Improve backend data transformation, ingestion, and orchestration processes.Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders.Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.Support enterprise modernization initiatives and cloud adoption.Required Qualifications7+ years of Data Engineering experience.Strong experience designing scalable enterprise data pipelines.Experience with modern cloud data platforms.Strong SQL, ETL/ELT, and data integration experience.Experience evaluating enterprise technologies and making architectural recommendations.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with technologies such as:SnowflakeAzure Data ServicesTalendAlteryxTableauOracleChange Data Capture (CDC) toolsManufacturing or industrial experience is a plus.
