Role:Embedded Software & Systems Integration Engineer - Remote Control Systems Location:Mossville, IL Work Arrangement:100% Onsite Schedule:Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Contract Duration:13 MonthsTop Skills Embedded C MATLAB/Simulink Real-Time Embedded Systems / RTOS System Integration Position OverviewOur client is seeking anEmbedded Software & Systems Integration Engineerto join an advanced engineering team developing and validating next-generationremote control, teleoperation, and machine vision systemsfor industrial applications.The engineer will be responsible for developing real-time embedded control software, defining and supporting system architectures, and performing end-to-end system integration across embedded software, electronic control modules, communication networks, and machine vision hardware.The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience withEmbedded C, MATLAB/Simulink, RTOS-based embedded systems, and multi-node system integration , along with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues at the system level.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy embedded control software usingEmbedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulinkon RTOS platforms. Perform end-to-end system integration across embedded software, ECUs, communication networks, and machine vision systems. Integrate and troubleshoot systems involvingCAN, J1939, and Ethernetcommunication protocols. Execute verification and validation (V&V) activities usingHardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)test environments. Utilize tools such asVector CANoe/CANalyzer and Wiresharkfor system testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Diagnose system-level defects and perform root-cause analysis across hardware/software interfaces. Troubleshoot embedded systems on physical benches and machines. Collaborate with systems engineering teams on functional safety, FMEA, architecture traceability, requirements, and release documentation. Support system architecture development and integration throughout the product lifecycle. Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful software and system releases. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree inElectrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science , or a related technical field. 5+ years of embedded software development experienceusing Embedded C and MATLAB/Simulink. 5+ years of real-time embedded systems development experience using RTOS. 3-5 years of hands-on system integration experience , including multi-node systems and physical bench/machine troubleshooting. Strong experience withCAN, J1939, and Ethernetcommunication protocols. Experience with diagnostic and development tools such as:Vector CANoe/CANalyzer Wireshark GitStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. Experience working across hardware/software interfaces and integrating complex embedded systems. Preferred QualificationsExperience withteleoperation, remote control systems, machine automation, robotics, or perception/machine vision systems . Familiarity withAUTOSARarchitecture. Knowledge ofFunctional Safety , including ISO 26262 and/or ISO 13849. Experience withHIL/SIL automated test frameworks . Experience with requirements management tools such asDOORS or Jama .
