Administrative Assistants
Work for a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
Seeking part-time employment with a flexible schedule? The schedule is comprised primarily of weekday shifts, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. The starting wage is $20.00 per hour.
Primary work location is the Creating Opportunities corporate office in Salem, Oregon with some travel to meetings and events throughout the mid-Willamette Valley region.
These positions provides the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities, their families, and local communities. Personal familiarity with developmental disabilities is essential.
Candidates must have excellent communication, scheduling, logistic planning, office computing, time management skills and be able to lift 50lbs periodically. Reliable transportation required. Must be able to pass criminal background check. Positions available could be 25-30 hours per week depending on program needs.

Administrative Duties Will Include:
Scheduling meetings, appointments and logistics.
Answer and return phone calls and text messages.
Send, prioritize, and respond to emails.
Manage paperwork, computer files and databases.
Arrange interpretation services.
Provide support to management, board members, committees, volunteers, and families.
Welcome visitors.
Community partner outreach.
Event coordination including logistics, marketing, registration, and supplies.
Manage office supplies and equipment.
Office cleaning and organizing.
Prepare meeting materials, attend meetings, and record meeting minutes.

Qualifications and Skills for the position:
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with individuals experiencing developmental disabilities. This may include family members with personal experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, One Drive, Google, Share Point and text message communication.
Develop and maintain accurate data entry records.
Communicate professionally, thoughtfully, and respectfully with others.
Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and scanners.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated dedication to maintaining confidentiality.
Willingness to work outside of scheduled times when needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid Oregon Driver’s license, valid car insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
Criminal background checks are required.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
