There is ample opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to hunt, fish, and hike in these wide-open spaces.Practice OverviewEstablished in 1978, Western Veterinary Services is a second-generation practice originating with the retiring veterinarians, Bill and Norma Headlee and carried on by their daughter, Corale. We are passionate about taking care of our clients, our community, and our team. We believe in serving our communities through a dedication to personalized service in a clinic-based setting. We have a newly updated facility with all the bells and whistles for equipment from ultrasound and digital x-ray to surgery suites with gas anesthesia and in-house blood work. We also have hydraulic chutes, hydraulic trim tables, padded equine surgery room and fully stocked vet trucks with Bowie vet boxes. In addition, our clients bring the individual animal cases to the clinic so doctors don't live in their truck.What You'll Be Working OnContinue the full-service exceptional medicine our loyal clientele appreciates.Build and maintain client relationships and educate on treatment options for all species.Manage a diverse livestock caseload from internal medicine, chute work, lameness, reproduction, record analysis and more as well as providing a full range of companion animal services.85% beef cow calf, 10% companion animal 5% equine with room to expand.Guide and utilize exceptional trained support staff (4 staff to doctor ratio) including in-truck vet assistants. QualificationsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program is required.Licensed in SD with Level 2 Federal Accreditation.Possess job skills that let you be operational when you begin.Experience in a mixed animal practice is a benefit.Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for service and continuous learning.Demonstrate commitment to ethics and integrity.Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
