Finance Controller for Restaurants

Job Description The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and delivering strategic financial insights to clients.Lead and manage the accounting department and teamOversee deadlines, deliverables, and overall workflow managementManage client expectations and maintain strong client relationshipsOversee day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations)Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and review financial statements and internal reportsEnsure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirementsDevelop, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting policiesSupervise, mentor, and support accounting staffCoordinate with external CPAs and tax teams for filings and auditsMonitor client cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecastingAnalyze financial data and provide actionable insights to clientsPartner closely with the CFO team to enhance financial visibility and strategyOversee multi-entity accounting environmentsEnsure proper revenue recognition and accurate expense trackingSupport system implementations and continuous process improvementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in accountingCPA PreferredRestaurant industry experience is required.Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)Experience with Toast and Restaurant365 is preferred.Company Description Hospitality Pro Search has been in business for over 25 years and is a leading executive search firm dedicated exclusively to the hospitality industry.
