Leymon Research proactively supports the professional growth and success of team members.Role DescriptionThe Research Assistant role at Leymon Research will support quantitative and qualitative research projects focused on applied, real-world impact. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, identifying patterns, and contributing to research that informs decision-making. This role is designed with a core focus on research and analysis, but responsibilities can be expanded or tailored based on your skills and interests. For example, team members may take on work in areas like client support, data visualization and communication, or promotion of research depending on fit.We are open to structuring this as full-time or part-time for the right candidate and are building a team with complementary strengths rather than rigid roles. As we are currently hiring for multiple roles, final responsibilities will be considered across hires to build a strong, complementary team.Essential QualificationsBachelor’s degree in social science with successful completion of at least two courses in research and statisticsSteadfast commitment to accuracy and research ethicsCompetence in ExcelExperience with quantitative and qualitative research methodsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detailAbility to work independently and manage deadlinesComfort with occasional travelWork may involve dealing with highly politically or sensitive personnel matters and requires maintaining confidentiality.Nice to have:Good working knowledge and understanding of Oregon’s health care systemGraduate coursework in social scienceExperience working with administrative data, especially health or criminal justice dataInterest in applied research and program evaluationExperience with statistical analysis software tools (such as Stata)Experience with qualitative coding or mixed-methods researchGood working knowledge and understanding of Oregon’s criminal justice systemKnowledge of the disease model of addiction, and the ability to work within that modelExperience writing reports and or grantsGood listening skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences
