Tool Room Group Leader

Tool Room Group LeaderResponsible for leading the tool room in organizing deliveries, keeping the warehouse clean and tidy, assisting others with tools, and communicating delivery of erection material to the erection department.Responsibilities:Receive deliveries to the plantAssure accuracy of received itemsMaintain warehouse and roadway in a clean and orderlyClean chucksLoad material baskets and delivery items to production beds as neededCommunicate with tool room in regarding warehouse suppliesStock delivered materialCoordinate pickups and deliveriesMaintain proper inventory and conduct monthly inventory auditsProperly use and conduct minor maintenance on forkliftDeliver necessary items to production beds in a timely mannerCommunicate with department supervisor on available warehouse suppliesAccumulate erection material and deliver items to jobsiteOperate tractor to deliver material to the plantOperate overhead craneAdhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety regulations and policiesHousekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly mannerScope of authority:Little supervision, must work independentlyTrain Tool Room, Forklift Driver, Tractor Operator, and Crane OperatorCharacteristics (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):Able to read blueprints, plans, and pick listsAble to read a measuring tape to 1/8Able to back a trailer into tight cornersSelf-motivatedBasic reading, writing, and math skillsBe familiar with rigging equipment, overhead crane, hammer, ladder, and forkliftAble to recognize needs and actAble to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processesValues and demonstrates safe working behaviorsEducation and Technology:Forklift experience preferredPrevious construction experience preferredHigh school diploma or GED equivalent preferred8 forms of waste 6S'sWork Environment / Schedule:Monday-FridaySchedule varies with workload and locationUnscheduled overtime may be required depending on production needsOutdoor, unshelteredWork area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperaturePersonal Protection Equipment (PPE):Safety glassesHigh-visibility vestHard hatSteel-toed shoesHearing protectionGloves (various types)Physical Requirements:This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.Metromont LLC (Company) is an equal opportunity employer.
