CNC/Wire EDM Programmer & Operator

*SUMMARY* BAE Industries is seeking an experienced CNC / Wire EDM Programmer & Operator to join our Machine & Engineering Department. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and inspecting precision CNC and Wire EDM equipment used to manufacture and repair stamping dies, spare tooling, die components, and production tooling. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in CNC machining, Wire EDM operations, and Mastercam programming, with the ability to read engineering drawings, interpret GD&T, select appropriate tooling and cutting conditions, and produce high-quality precision components with minimal supervision. This position requires a highly skilled machinist who takes pride in accuracy, quality, productivity, and maintaining equipment in a professional tool-and-die environment. *\*\*\*\*This is a 1st Shift Position\*\*\*\*\** *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Required Skill Sets: * Program CNC machining equipment using Mastercam. * Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs based on engineering drawings and 3D models. * Set up and operate CNC machining centers. * Set up and operate Wire EDM equipment. * Perform precision machining of stamping die components, spare tooling, inserts, punches, dies, and related components. * Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and CAD models. * Understand and apply GD&T principles. * Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding methods, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies. * Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. * Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment. * Make program adjustments and offsets to maintain required dimensions and tolerances. * Troubleshoot machining, programming, and Wire EDM issues and determine appropriate corrective actions. * Work with engineering and other machinists to develop efficient manufacturing methods. * Assist with prototype, repair, and replacement tooling. * Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, tooling, and machining processes. * Maintain machines, work areas, tooling, and equipment in a clean and safe condition. * Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures. * Support continuous improvement efforts to improve machining quality, cycle time, and efficiency. * Perform other duties related to CNC machining, Wire EDM, toolmaking, and the Machine & Engineering Department as assigned.
