Our customers and community members know that they can rely on us for Legendary Service and quality products.Job title: Purchasing CoordinatorSalary: Starting at $26.62 - $31.10 an hour, depending on experienceSchedule: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pmLocation: Hillsboro, Oregon *This is an in-office role at Five Oaks*The Purchasing Coordinator provides administrative support for the team of commodity purchasers. The primary focus of this role is to streamline the function of the commodity buyers, while enabling a high level of communication with the yards, vendors, and salespeople.The optimal Purchasing Coordinator is someone with above-average organizational skills, is detail oriented, highly accurate, and able to complete tasks accurately with minimal supervision. This role is vital to fulfilling our mission of Legendary Service Through Teamwork because a highly effective purchasing department is critical to the company being able to deliver on our customer service promises - as well as being critical to the profitability of PARR.The Purchasing Coordinator reports directly to the Purchasing Manager, and works closely with the Operational Teams. This person interacts daily with vendors, sales, and yard personnel.QualificationsKnowledge of lumber, panels, and related productsProficiency in Word, Excel, and OutlookMust be able to operate personal computer, telephone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the jobAbility to speak, write, and read English requiredOne to two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and/or trainingKnowledge and experience working with perpetual inventory systems preferredWorking knowledge of Biztrack software preferredDuties And ResponsibilitiesMatch the purchase orders with quantities, destination, and pricing on vendor confirmationEnsure that shipping schedules are met for commodity purchasesTrack and follow up on late shipmentsCommunicate with the field about late shipmentsAssist in price updates and corrections in BiztrackAssist with the transition to Biztrack as a department resourceProactively communicate with suppliers about product and supply issues with the goal of making the system work betterBe the department point person working with yards on their inventory discrepanciesAssist Buyers in documenting and following up on product claimsStandardize, organize, and maintain the department filing systemsPerform other related duties as assignedThe primary working conditions are an office environment with a computer. The job may require occasional work in lumberyard working to train employees.
