This role ensures all installation activities comply with contract documents, applicable codes, company standards, and client quality requirements. The QA/QC Superintendent works closely with Project Management, Field Supervision, Commissioning Teams, and Clients to ensure installations are completed correctly the first time and fully documented to support successful commissioning and turnover. This is a safety sensitive position.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans in alignment with contract requirements, company standards, and client specifications.Establish inspection and test plans (ITPs), checklists, and quality procedures for all electrical installation activities.Participate in preconstruction, pre-installation, and preparatory meetings to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and understood.Ensure alignment of QA/QC processes with commissioning and turnover requirements.Perform daily field inspections of electrical installations, including but not limited to:Underground and above-ground raceway installationCable tray and supportsMedium and low voltage cable installation and terminationsSwitchgear, UPS, PDUs, and distribution equipmentGrounding and bonding systemsEquipment setting and alignmentVerify installations comply with:Contract drawings and specificationsNEC, NFPA, and applicable codesManufacturer installation requirementsClient standards and project quality plansMaintain comprehensive quality documentation, including:Inspection reportsTest resultsDeficiency tracking logsRedline drawingsTurnover packages and system completion documentationCoordinate with commissioning teams to support system walkdowns, energization, and turnover.Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and properly organized for client turnover.Identify, document, and track deficiencies and non-conforming work.Collaborate with field supervision and project management to ensure timely corrective action.Verify corrective work is completed in compliance with quality standards.Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.Work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, and Engineers to maintain quality standards.Participate in coordination meetings with general contractors, clients, inspectors, and commissioning agents.Provide quality-related guidance and training to field personnel.Promote a culture of quality ownership across the project team.Support development and improvement of company-wide QA/QC standards and procedures.Identify recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements.Assist in developing best practices related to installation quality and turnover efficiency.Performs other duties as needed to support projects, operations, and the department.QualificationsMust possess a valid Journeyman Electrician License issued by a recognized state or jurisdiction.7+ years of electrical construction experience, preferably in mission critical, data center, semiconductor, industrial, or large commercial projects.3+ years in a QA/QC, Superintendent, or Field Leadership role.Strong understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, grounding, switchgear, and controls.Experience with commissioning and turnover processesStrong working knowledge of:NEC and applicable electrical codesElectrical installation methods and best practicesInspection and testing proceduresConstruction drawings, specifications, and submittalsCommissioning and system turnover processesSkills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and specificationsExcellent communication and coordination skillsStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilityAbility to work effectively with field teams, clients, and managementWork Environment & Physical DemandsMay work inside or outside. Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, in all-weather elements such as rain, heat, cold and snow. This position also requires work at extreme heights, in areas that are under construction, or in restricted areas such as a switchgear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic, in confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.Lift 51 pounds, routinely. Constantly move about on the feet.Climb ladders of all types.Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. This position requires flexible work hours. In order to get a project completed on time, this position is often required to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts.Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
