This role combines enterprise database administration with cloud-hosted GIS infrastructure engineering, supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments, ArcGIS Enterprise deployments, Azure cloud services, and federal security compliance requirements.The ideal candidate possesses expertise in enterprise geodatabases, database optimization, schema management, ArcGIS service publishing, Azure cloud architecture, and troubleshooting complex GIS environments supporting mission-critical federal programs.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain enterprise geospatial databases across development, test, and production environmentsAdminister Microsoft SQL Server and enterprise geodatabase environmentsSupport schema modifications, versioning workflows, backups, reconciliation, and performance tuningManage mosaics, rasters, indices, statistics, and database optimization activitiesPublish and maintain geospatial services within ArcGIS Enterprise environmentsTroubleshoot database, infrastructure, and service publishing issues within Azure-hosted systemsSupport DOI security requirements, vulnerability remediation efforts, and FISMA Moderate compliance activitiesProvide recommendations to improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and securityMaintain FGDC and ISO-compliant metadata and data management processesSupport cloud-hosted marine minerals and scientific data repositoriesRequirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, GIS, Geography, Engineering, or a related fieldDemonstrated expertise with Microsoft SQL Server administration and optimizationExperience with enterprise geodatabase design, maintenance, and versioned environmentsStrong knowledge of Spatial SQL and geospatial database technologiesExperience supporting ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, deployment, and administrationProficiency with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including storage, networking, compute, and securityExperience troubleshooting performance issues in complex cloud-hosted environmentsKnowledge of FGDC and ISO 19115 metadata standardsFamiliarity with federal security requirements and FISMA Moderate complianceAbility to obtain and maintain a NACI/Public Trust clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience supporting BOEM, DOI, NOAA, USGS, or other federal geospatial programsFamiliarity with marine mineral datasets and scientific data repositoriesExperience with branch and traditional geodatabase versioning workflowsKnowledge of DOI cloud hosting requirements and enterprise GIS best practicesRelevant Microsoft Azure, Esri, or database certificationsExperience supporting large-scale environmental or natural resource management systemsEssnova Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
