Hours worked can range between 20 - 25 hours for a period of up to one year, depending on workload and availability of the selected candidate. General Statement Of Duties & Organizational ResponsibilitiesTemporary, non-benefited technical position to work exclusively on applied practical research studies, data analytics and optimization efforts. The candidate will work as part of a research team executing work under the direction of Technology and Innovation Staff.Examples of DutiesOperate pilot systems, making process adjustments.Collect and analyze data.Provide cost estimates and life-cycle cost/benefit analysis.Coordinate and communicate with other research teams.Provide summary documentation that is a peer-review quality.Develop experimental plans and conduct bench-top experiments Perform data analysis and develop process workbooks and dashboards to support various wastewater treatment processes QualificationsMinimum QualificationsMinimum of three semesters college education with demonstrated academic performance in coursework in the physical and/or biological sciences, civil and/or environmental engineering fields. The ability to conduct physical work related to the operation of pilot systems. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment and comply with all safety requirements associated with an operating facility. Excellent communication, experimental design, and quantitative skills.Desired QualificationsAn undergraduate degree in engineering, environmental science, biology, chemistry or related field. Enrollment in a Master's Degree program is a plus. Prior experience working on water or wastewater research, bench scale and pilot experiments.
