Project Manager – Specifications (Architecture)Atlanta or Dallas | Full-time | Hybrid/Flexible hours (as applicable)A high-performing architecture firm within a larger multi-discipline network is hiring a Project Manager – Specifications to act as a firmwide technical resource and elevate specification quality across multiple active projects. This is a highly collaborative role embedded with Project Managers and design teams (not a siloed “spec writer” position).You’ll influence materials and product decisions, strengthen QA/QC, and support delivery from design through construction administration—particularly on fast-paced, technically complex industrial/mission-critical building types.Why this role mattersThis hire is central to improving consistency, risk management, and documentation quality across the firm. You’ll help shape standards, reduce coordination gaps, and support smoother construction outcomes across multiple teams and project types.What you’ll doPartner with PMs and design teams to develop, coordinate, and maintain project specifications across multiple projectsServe as the go-to technical resource for materials, assemblies, systems, vendors, and emerging productsProduce draft/final specifications and manage updates/change bulletins throughout the project lifecycleStrengthen QA/QC by verifying alignment between specs, drawings, and project requirementsBuild and maintain firm standards (and client-specific standards where required)Develop Design Criteria Manuals (DCMs) and requirements documentation for key clientsSupport construction administration: respond to RFIs, review submittals, and evaluate substitution requestsParticipate in technical meetings (e.g., complex assemblies, pre-install) when your expertise is neededMaintain clear documentation of spec revisions and historical product decisionsUse and support tools such as SpecLink, Bluebeam, and workflows integrated with Revit/ACC (plus similar platforms)What they’re looking forBachelor’s in Architecture (preferred) or related field (Engineering/Construction Mgmt acceptable)10+ years in architecture with strong emphasis on specifications/technical delivery/project leadershipRegistered Architect preferredDeep knowledge of building materials/systems and construction methodsStrong working knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and specification best practicesExperience supporting construction administration (RFIs, submittals, substitutions)Proficiency with SpecLink and Bluebeam; Revit/ACC familiarity a plusStrong communication and organization; able to influence across multiple teamsWhat’s offered (high level)Competitive compensation plus a comprehensive benefits package typically including paid time off/holidays, parental leave, retirement plan, health and disability coverage, professional registration support, bonus potential, and flexible work hours.
