Financial analyst

About the job The Financial Analyst will play a key role in financial planning, reporting, compliance, and operational analysis across the organization. This position partners with leadership and departments to support budgeting, forecasting, audits, financial modeling, and process improvements while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. We're looking for someone who Holds a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, or a related field Has 4+ years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, preferably within a non-profit, education, or governmental organization Demonstrates strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and financial practices related to governmental and non-profit organizations Excels at financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and problem-solving Has advanced technical skills in enterprise accounting systems, databases, spreadsheets, pivot tables, and Microsoft Office products Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing Is highly organized with strong attention to detail Can manage shifting priorities and overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment Works independently while collaborating professionally with teams and stakeholders Has experience with financial systems implementations, process improvements, or system transitions (preferred) Has experience with People Soft, Data Warehouse, Crystal Reports, Revenue Vision, or similar reporting systems (preferred) Is comfortable learning and championing new budgeting, accounting, and expense management tools (preferred) Has experience in higher education, non-profit, or governmental environments (preferred) What you'll do Monitor and analyze organization-wide revenue, expenses, and capital project activity Extract, interpret, and analyze financial data from accounting and reporting systems Support annual external audit preparation, documentation, and auditor requests Prepare and review quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules Record and reconcile bond, debt, and lease accounting transactions Prepare complex financial, investment, and statistical analyses for leadership Assist with long-range financial planning, forecasting, and trend analysis Support the annual budgeting process through preparation, training, and communication Partner with department leaders to improve budget accountability Prepare and submit financial surveys, informational filings, and compliance reports including Form 990 Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
