Welder

VMG is seeking an experienced Welder to support large-scale commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects. This role is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials used in HVAC and plumbing systemsFabricate, assemble, and install piping components per project drawings and specificationsRead and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and isometric drawingsEnsure welds meet quality standards and pass inspectionsMaintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and jobsite requirementsInspect welds and make necessary repairs or adjustmentsCollaborate with foremen, superintendents, and field crews to meet project schedulesJob Requirements2+ years of welding experience in commercial construction (HVAC or plumbing preferred)Proficiency in welding processes such as Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and/or TIG (GTAW)Ability to read and understand construction drawings and welding symbolsKnowledge of welding safety practices and proceduresExperience working with piping systems is strongly preferredAbility to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and at heightsAbility to lift:Up to 10 lbs regularlyUp to 50 lbs frequentlyOver 75 lbs occasionally with assistanceWillingness to travel to job sites throughout the DMV areaPreferred QualificationsWelding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent)Experience with commercial HVAC piping or plumbing systemsFamiliarity with local building and safety codesWhy Join VMG?Vertical Mechanical Group is a full-service HVAC and Plumbing contractor specializing in large-scale commercial projects.
