Position Summary **Starting in Cedar Rapids, IA** The Traveling Trimble Coordinator / Operator is responsible for managing field layout, scanning, and digital construction workflows using Trimble equipment and software. This role bridges the gap between design, BIM/VDC, and field execution-ensuring accurate layout, improved productivity, and reduced rework on commercial construction projects. Key Responsibilities Operate Trimble total stations, GPS, and scanning equipment for field layout and verification Create Trimble points within the software or Trimble unit for field use. Perform digital layout of sleeves, embeds, anchors, hangers, and equipment points Upload/download models and coordinate data between BIM/VDC teams and field crews Conduct laser scanning and as-built verification to track progress and identify conflicts Ensure layout accuracy and resolve discrepancies between plans and field conditions Support project teams with constructability reviews and clash detection feedback Train and assist field personnel in Trimble workflows and layout best practices Maintain equipment, calibration, and data integrity Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain schedule Document and report layout activities, deviations, and progress Qualifications 2-5+ years of commercial construction experience (field or layout preferred) Trimble Robotic Total Stations / GPS Trimble Field Link, Business Center, or similar BIM/VDC tools (Revit, Navisworks - preferred) Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications Ability to interpret models and translate them to field layout High attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong communication between office and field teams Key Skills Construction layout & surveying BIM/VDC coordination Technology adoption in field operations Time management & scheduling coordination Communication across trades and stakeholders Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $35 - $40 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
