We would love for you to join our team!The Property Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers. A successful Property Accountant will control expenses through proper receiving, processing, verification, and reconciliation of receipts and understand that this role is critical to the reputation and growth of Tailwind Group.This is an in-office position and must be fulfilled onsite at our Mankato or Plymouth Corporate Office.Benefits & PerksWe strive to provide our employees with the most competitive benefits package in the industry. A few of those benefits and perks include:Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance for employees and their families17 Days of PTO in your first full year + 9 Paid Holidays401(k) with company matchingOn-the-job training and career developmentPaid Parental LeaveResponsibilities & DutiesModel and cascade Tailwind Group’s five core values: Entrepreneurial, Versatile, Responsive, Innovative, and Integrity.Ensure correct entry, approval, sorting, coding, and matching of payables and receivables to prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.Perform day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities and provide efficient client service.Reconcile accounts in a timely manner including daily bank clears.Enter key data of financial transactions in accounting software programs daily.Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.Prepare month and year-end closing.Post rent, late fees, and NSFs to customer accounts.Communicate and respond to inquiries from clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts.Assist with processing security deposit refunds and in annual budget preparation.Prepare Investor/Lender required financial reporting.Prepare and process monthly owner distribution checks.RequirementsAssociate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and or two or more years of progressive experience in accounting.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.Possess strong administrative, organization, and communication skills.Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.Be a self-motivated individual and excel at working in a team environment.Ability to have a positive and innovative approach to problem-solving.Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Experience with RealPage software is preferred.To learn more about our core values, mission, and vision, check out: http://thetailwindgroup.com/.A complete list of responsibilities and duties can be provided during the interview process.This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship at this time.
