Our equipment heats, stores, transports, and applies all types of asphaltic material for maintaining the roadways.Our vision is to be a worldclass manufacturer and the leading supplier of asphalt maintenance equipment.This position requires a welding background strong in MIG and Pulse techniques. It involves the use of jigs and fixtures to perform welding operations for large hoppers and tanks, including leak proof processes, according to documented manufacturing procedures and prints.4x10 Monday - Thursday with overtime available. Some flexibility available upon prior agreement with manager.Starting wage range $20-$30 hourly, plus $3 shift differential for 2nd shiftESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:Perform fabrication and welding operations for large hoppers and tanks, including leak proof processes, according to documented manufacturing procedures and prints. Set-up and operate Miller Axcess 40v wire feeder and Miller Axcess 300 pulse welder. Weld the tank and hopper walls using MIG and Pulse practices. Must be leak proof!Use of jigs and fixtures required for a majority of all day to day operations. Self-inspect and evaluate the quality of products before forwarding to the next step in the fulfillment process. Other duties deemed necessary to support the Company's business operations (ie. Cross-trainable) Perform work at or above pre-established performance objectives. Keep the work area clean and organized, follow 5S guidelines. Follow work direction and training provided by higher level welding personnel. Actively participate in the Company’s continuous improvement efforts by identifying and communicating basic process improvements. Ability to work well in a team environmentFlexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasksProven reliability - attendance and punctuality!TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:Blueprint reading and ability to read and interpret weld symbolsAbility to perform basic structural weld joints such as T, Lap, Corner to corner, ButtSkilled in MIG and Pulse welding procedures and operations, some TIGWelds are consistently aesthetically acceptable and finished to company expectationsConsistently weld to leak-proof standardsOpen tank, closed tank, and hot oil leak proof testing procedureAdjust welder and weld at a speed acceptable to company’s desired expectationUse of Jigs and FixturesForklift and crane operationsPossess mathematical problem-solving abilityDemonstrate appropriate use of tools, technology, and equipmentKnowledge of mathematical principals such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and converting between decimals, percentages, fractions, and whole numbersMaterial identification – steel, aluminum, stainlessESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:Frequent reaching and lifting 0-50 lbs. Overhead cranes available. Requires ability to grip with hands/fingers for sustained periods of timeRepetitious and sustained postures alternating between crouching, kneeling, bending, standing for extended periods of timeFrequent bending/ twisting/ turning Frequent and extended periods of standing and walking requiredSome use of ladders and climbing stepsOperation of equipment and machinery such as overhead cranes and/or forklifts Remaining alert to surroundings, specifically when operating equipment and/or machineryMust be able to reason and partake in critical decision making.
