Job DescriptionEstimator - Heavy Civil Construction / InfrastructureLocation: Ohio A well-established heavy civil contractor in Ohio is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts for infrastructure projects. This role prepares detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions, working closely with project teams, engineers, vendors, and owners throughout the pre-bid process.Key Scopes of WorkEarthworkRoadway constructionUtilities (waterline, storm, sanitary sewer)Concrete flatworkConcrete structuresDeep foundationsKey ResponsibilitiesReview drawings, specifications, and proposals to fully understand project requirementsPerform accurate takeoffs for labor, material, and equipmentDevelop detailed cost breakdowns and bid itemsAnalyze labor, production rates, subcontractor quotes, and market pricingCoordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and timely quotesIdentify project risks and support internal bid reviewsPrepare complete bid packages and support preconstruction planningMaintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal operations teamsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Mathematics, or related field2+ years of experience in construction or related estimating roleKnowledge of heavy civil construction principles and project sequencingExperience with HCSS Heavy Bid preferredProficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft OfficeStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and proposalsValid driver's licenseBenefitsEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife & Disability Insurance401(k) Plan This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected civil contractor, contribute to high-impact projects, and grow your estimating career.
