Geotechnical Engineer EIT

ProTeX is a privately owned and operated engineering firm with a laid back, family friendly culture where your knowledge and expertise will be respected and valued.ProTeX is seeking a qualified and motivated Geotechnical Engineer (EIT).EXPERIENCE PREFERRED- If you have experience in the following areas that will be a plus but applications will still be accepted for anyone with degree in Civil Engineering and working towards their EIT. An understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts and analysis methodsAbility to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thoughtAbility to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar materialBasic experience in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, GeoStudio, and gINTExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWilling to travel on an as-needed basis in support of geotechnical investigations, construction, and inspectionsPrimary DutiesPerform field sampling and testing utilizing a drill rig, seismic refraction, double-ring infiltrometer, etcPerforms a variety of skilled professional engineering work in the office and/or fieldApplies broad/basic knowledge of principles of civil and geotechnical engineering to observe construction work, observe and document existing conditions, scope work, prepare proposals, perform site studies, identify soil and bedrock, establish laboratory testing programs, evaluate and characterize site conditions, perform engineering analysis and prepare reports. Requires application of standard engineering techniques and procedures, including professional judgment to execute work, develop solutions, and make design modificationsPerforming geotechnical studies, analysis, and designPreparing/reviewing a variety of geotechnical reports, studies, and evaluationsReviewing construction observation and testing data and preparing reportsAnalysis and design of mechanically stabilized earth retaining structuresSlope stability analysisAnalysis and design of ground anchors and soil nailsGeneral knowledge of concrete, asphalt, and aggregate materials testingAn understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts and analysis methodsAbility to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thoughtAbility to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar materialBasic experience in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, GeoStudio, and gINTExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWilling to travel on an as-needed basis in support of geotechnical investigations, construction, and inspectionsQualificationsB.S. degree in Civil Engineering0-4 years’ related experiencePassed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is a plusProficient in MS Word, Outlook and ExcelPossesses effective oral and written communication skillsWorks well in a Team EnvironmentThorough attention to detailMust pass a Motor Vehicle Record and Background CheckPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 75 pounds at timesThe employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilitiesApply today and give us a chance to show you the ProTeX difference!Job Type: Full-timePowered by JazzHRzlmcnJLaDP
