As a camp nurse at OTC, you will join a dynamic and creative health care team committed to providing respectful, compassionate care for all campers, including transgender, non-conforming, and neurodivergent teens. Successful candidates will be self-initiating, adaptable, and have a strong sense of humor.Compensation for this position is $1,500 per week, including meals, housing, and kitchen access.Dates:6-Week Position (June 21st - August 2nd, exact dates flexible)3-Week Position (July 5th-July 25th, exact dates flexible)Shorter contracts are available based on staffing needs and camper enrollmentPer Diem positions are available for Western MA locals at a rate of $300/dayJob Description:Assess camper injury and illness and apply nursing judgement to provide interventions within scope of practiceAdhere to provider's orders and determine when emergency care or evaluation by an Advanced Practioner is neededProvide on-call overnight coverage on a rotational basisAdminister scheduled and PRN medicationsThorough and accurate documentation of all nursing interventions and communications with camper families.Ensure that Odyssey Teen Camp protocols, local and state guidelines for healthcare provision and camp management, HIPPA standards, and evidence-based practices are upheld at all timesMaintain orderly and sanitary workspacesReview and organize camper health forms and records in preparation for MA Board of Health inspectionInterdisciplinary collaboration with all camp staff and leadershipAssist in maintaining a camp atmosphere that is comfortable, playful, and supportive for all campers and staffNurse Requirements:Current Massachusetts nursing license (RN or LPN) obtained before start of employment - OTC will cover licensing feesPediatric nursing experience preferred (not required)Pass a background check, complete a physical exam, and provide proof of immunizationsPhysical ability to navigate uneven terrain in an outdoor environmentComfortable residing in rustic cabin accommodations
