Service Technician (Level 1)

Location: Highlands, TXSalary: $65,000.00 USD Annually - $70,000.00 USD AnnuallyDescription: Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and service safety and level gauging equipment on industrial and commercial marine vessels. This role involves hands-on electrical and instrumentation work in field environments and requires travel, independent work, and strong customer interaction skills.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, commission, and maintain safety and level gauging equipment on marine vesselsInstall electrical conduit, bend pipe, and run marine-grade cablingTest, inspect, and diagnose electrical systems to ensure proper operation and circuit continuityTroubleshoot systems using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and loop calibratorsRead and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentationApply basic knowledge of PLCs, industrial automation, and process control systemsMaintain company equipment and assets, including vehicles, tools, laptops, and inventoryComplete accurate service documentation and expense reports in a timely mannerBuild and maintain professional relationships with customers through effective communicationWork independently and remotely in a fast-paced field environmentFollow all safety policies, procedures, and maritime regulationsMaintain a professional appearance when interacting with customers and colleaguesRequired QualificationsTechnical degree, relevant certifications, or 2-3 years of related field experienceExperience with electrical or instrumentation systemsAbility to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problemsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordTWIC card and valid passport (or ability to obtain)Willingness to travel up to 50% of the timeComfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screeningPreferred QualificationsMarine, maritime, or shipboard experienceFamiliarity with PLCs, industrial automation, or process control systemsBasic PC networking knowledgeProficiency with Microsoft Office and OutlookPhysical & Working ConditionsMajority of work performed outdoors and aboard marine vesselsExposure to industrial noise, weather, and confined spacesPhysically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and climbing cargo tanksStrict adherence to safety requirements in a marine industrial environmentEqual Opportunity StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
