Used Merchandise RetailersVocational Rehabilitation ServicesPrivate HouseholdsJunior CollegesOffices of Other Health PractitionersSorter/Donation ProcessorThe Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people.The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Following procedure for sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping, and receiving donated items for saleKeeping the donation area clean and free of debrisSorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical, and miscellaneous household itemsLoading donations for truck deliveryAdhering to all safety policies for loading and unloading trucksFollowing all accident and injury reporting proceduresMaintaining a clean and organized receiving and processing areaDetermining which items are saleable, repairable, or salvageableAdhering to proper dress code with uniform as designated by direct supervisorEducational requirements include:High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experienceMust complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate SupervisorPhysical requirements include:Ability to lift, bend, and stoopAbility to walk, climb, and/or balanceAbility to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include distance, peripheral, vision, and depth perceptionQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
