School Nurse - Early Childhood for the 26-27 School Year - LPN or RN Preferred
Anticipated full time LPN/RN position for early childhood center. The nurse will provide direct healthcare services including but not limited to first aid, managing chronic health conditions, screenings, administering medications, reviewing immunization and health records. Experience with pediatrics and chronic health conditions (i.e. asthma, allergies, and type 1 diabetes) is preferred. This is an evolving position that could include floating and assisting other buildings within the district as needed, and/or assisting within the office.
Pay scale: LPN, RN, BSN (as appropriate)
Qualifications: Must hold a current, unrestricted, MO nursing license
Have and maintain current CPR/AED certification for adult and child
Reports to: Building Principal, Director of Health Services, and Assistant
Superintendent

Terms of Employment:
Full time building nurse: 190 days with salary and benefits determined annually
by the Board of Education
Early Childhood & Special Education: Determined by student’s needs and attendance; salary and benefits determined annually by the Board of Education
Float nurse: School calendar plus days for meetings and/or registrations, salary and benefits determined annually by the Board of Education
Sub nurse: As needed
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually prior to May1 by the
Director of Health Services, in cooperation with the Building Principal.
Responsibilities:
Provide appropriate healthcare to students within the scope of practice, standards of care, and board policy.
Provide appropriate instruction to students and/or staff regarding health issues as directed by building administration.
Adequately assess student complaints, document appropriately, and communicate professionally with parent/ guardian and staff when necessary.
Assist in organizing, completing, and following up with hearing and vision screens in coordination with the Director of Health Services (and provide Lion’s referrals or other community assistance programs as needed)
Complete and maintain accurate MARs
Attend meetings as determined by the Director of Health Services, Building Principal, and/ or Assistant Superintendent.
Maintain confidentiality of student and staff’s healthcare information and interactions
Use the district’s electronic medical record system to chart on, and maintain health records for all students (including but not limited to office visits, chronic conditions, and immunizations).
Maintain accurate daily census sheets and report these monthly to the Director of Health Services, along with reported communicable diseases (or immediately if trends are noted)
Complete and maintain accurate student health records so the Director of Health Services can pull and report all required information to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Perform nursing care and procedures as ordered by student’s physicians
Serve as a team member in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s) and/or 504 plans as needed
Collaborate with staff and service organizations as needed to provide services to students as needs are identified
Perform other duties related to the general health and wellbeing of students and staff as designated by the Director of Health Services, Building Principal, and Assistant Superintendent
Assume responsibility for individual professional growth
All other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Pay: $18.11 - $26.96 per hour
