No matter what.In support of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY)’s mission, the Health Education and Outreach Supervisor (HEOS) oversees the development, marketing, and implementation of educational and outreach programs at the In Control site for youth ages 11 – 19 years. The HEOS is responsible for supervising site staff, including the Youth Site Coordinator, ensuring the delivery of high-quality health education and outreach services. The HEOS establishes and maintains relationships with community organizations and resources to support the program’s goals.Essential FunctionsProgram SupervisionWorks to ensure all programs meet goals and objectives in a manner compliant with funding sources.Maintains In Control site operations in accordance with PPCWNY policies and procedures.Monitors and reports on program outcomes and impacts.Identifies barriers and ensures access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare and family planning services and other essential support services for teens.Staff SupervisionSupervises the Youth Site Coordinator and oversees youth education contractors/special programs instructors, and groups of peer educatorsEnsures staff are provided with and follow an annual work planConducts regular performance evaluations and provides feedbackIdentifies and responds to coaching, mentoring and training needs of staffCommunity EngagementEstablishes and maintains relationships with community organizations and other collaborative entities to broaden the impact of In ControlCoordinates and conducts outreach activities to promote the program and engage key communities and youthHealth and Youth Development EducationOversees and provides health and youth development education sessionsDelivers evidence-based programs with fidelity to youth in a variety of settingsEnsures educational materials are up to date and relevantCollaborates with other team members to plan, co-facilitate, and implement a diverse range of programmingProvides assistance and/or referrals for youth to obtain comprehensive family planning services, health services, or other essential support services as identified.Administrative DutiesMaintains records for programming activities, including contact information, parent/guardian permissions, relevant health records, etc.Submits reports as requiredAttends and participates in regular agency meetings, training, and in-servicesMeets deadlines for requested written reports and required data entryOther Accountability ActivitiesHelps to maintain a Just Culture and welcoming environment for youth at In ControlPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements QualificationsApplicants must possess the following qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):Education—Bachelor’s degree in health education or a health-related fieldExperience—A minimum of 3 years of experience with the provision of comprehensive sexuality education to an adolescent populationExperience working with youth and demonstrated ability to be non-stigmatizing of youth in their roleKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to facilitate discussions/teach classes to youth on reproductive health topics such as reproductive anatomy, contraceptive methods, STDs, and HIV/AIDS.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat).Knowledge of reproductive health, anatomy and physiology, and family planningKnowledge of or experience with community and priority population to be served Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills; ability to plan and implement programs from the ground upStrong leadership skillsAbility to work collaboratively with various groups and stakeholdersBilingual skills, depending on the community and youth being servedMust be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekendsMust have reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license not in jeopardy of being revokedA commitment to Planned Parenthood of Central and Western NY (PPCWNY)’s mission, vision and values along with a commitment to providing services to a wide range of clients and to the goals of PPCWNY is essentialWorking ConditionsStandard office environment and various client sites, including but not limited to: schools, community centers, and public buildingsWell-lit/ventilatedPhysical RequirementsPossess sufficient mobility to perform the Essential Functions listed in this Job Description with or without an accommodationAbility to travel to all agency locations as assignedPlease NoteThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all working conditions or physical requirements that are required of the employee for their job. In alignment with these efforts, the pay for this position ranges from $23.54 to $27.26/hour.
