Power Systems Research Scientist

Job DescriptionPower System Research ScientistDivision: Energy Solutions DivisionLocation: Santa Clara, CA or remoteStatus: Regular, Full TimeResponsibilitiesConduct research in power system analysis, focusing on both distribution and transmission.Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams, including utility partners, academic institutions, and government agencies.Publish research findings in peer-reviewed paper/journal.QualificationsPh.D. in Electrical Engineering or related degree with 1-3 years of experience in power system.Demonstrated expertise in both distribution and transmission system analysis.Knowledge of transmission analysis such as power flow, stability, and contingency analysis is preferred.Knowledge of economic analysis preferred.Knowledge of distribution power flow analytics, nature of electrical loads is preferred.Knowledge of smart grid technologies, microgrids, DER management, and control systems is preferred.Proficiency in Python is a must.Proficiency in AI/ML algorithm development is preferred.Familiarity with power system simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, OpenDSS, PSSE, or GridLAB-D is preferred.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are proud to say we are an equal opportunity employer and welcome all applicants for employment without attention to any factor that doesn't impact your ability to do the job, including race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.
