Requisition ID 34163BR Work Location El Paso Org Level 1 Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso Campus HSC - El Paso Department Internal Medicine Elp Genl Major/Essential Functions Provides Infectious Disease in-patient care and in-patient consultation services Supervises and teaches students and residents in both in-patient and outpatient care Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as committee work Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations Exhibits teamwork orientation and acts as a team player Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibilities Required Qualifications Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity. Preferred Qualifications Board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine Board certification in Infectious Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine Experience teaching medical students and residents.
