Job DescriptionInfrastructure Engineer IIINarrative Job Summary:As an Infrastructure Engineer in Marana, AZ, you will maintain and manage the IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role requires adaptability and the ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies.You will be working near the Peace Vanguard Detachment, which includes the RSAF's AH-64 Apache helicopter training operations. This provides a diverse and collaborative environment, with a strong emphasis on community involvement and cultural activities.Responsibilities & Tasks:Design, configure, and manage overall integrated systems infrastructure. Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems, such as Windows Server, and Linux. Install, configure, and maintain storage systems, including Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS), to ensure data availability and integrity. Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data. Monitor system and network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability and security. Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols, to protect the network and data. Perform security audits and vulnerability assessments. Develop and maintain scripts or automation tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning and management processes. Assess current infrastructure needs and plan for future growth by evaluating hardware and software requirements. Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and outages in a timely manner. Conduct root cause analysis to prevent future issues. Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and address performance issues. Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and changes. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster. Ensure infrastructure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulationsAssist in budget planning and management for IT infrastructure projects and ongoing maintenance. Expected core competencies: Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy Management along with Desktop Operating Systems. Advanced working knowledge of Linux Operating SystemAdvanced working knowledge of Type 1 Hypervisor technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM. Advanced working knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies, such as NFS, CIFS, Fiber Channel, and iSCSI protocols. Ability to create and utilize administrative scripts, such as PowerShell, Bash, and PythonExperience with automation tools, such as Ansible. Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in IT infrastructure. Share knowledge with team members and colleagues. Qualifications:Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Must have 10+ years of experienceRequired certifications:CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification Additional certifications a plus: A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, MSCE, CCNA, CCNP, VCP, StorageRelated military training and/or job experience is a plus Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
