Brief DescriptionThe Southern Hobby Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing all outbound shipping processes to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality order fulfillment. Duties/ResponsibilitiesOversee the shipping process and support shipping team members during daily operations Stay abreast of shipping procedural updates, modifications and multi-point communications with leadership Ensure all outbound orders are properly packed, labeled, and meet shipment SLA and SHD standards (Same Day, Next Day, 2-Day Ground, Air etc.) Confirm that order tickets, packing slips, and shipping labels align 100% of the time including weights and dimensions, as well as carrier selection Perform 100% checks to ensure accuracy and completeness before orders are loaded Direct down-stackers in loading, closing, and preparing trucks for daily outbound shipments Ensure outbound FedEx orders are packed, labelled and palletized correctly Monitor shipping station workflow and assist in resolving process bottlenecks or delays Support documentation and secure handling of all Will Call/Walk-in customer pickups Support documentation and secure handling of all LTL/FTL carrier pickups Maintain a clean and organized work area; enforce end-of-day 5S housekeeping practices Review end-of-day shipping reports to confirm all outbound orders are complete and accurate; coordinate with the Production Lead to ensure all required orders are marked as shipped in the system Ensure regular, reliable attendance Assist with quarterly and yearly inventory Perform other duties as assigned by leadership Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent time management skills Good verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize tasks Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Ability to follow safe warehouse working practices, as instructed Ability to take directions and follow procedures Ability to safely operate a forklift and other tools/equipment as needed Supervisory ResponsibilitiesResponsible for a process, however no direct reportsEducation And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPhysical Requirements1-3 years’ experience working in a warehouse preferredMust be able to lift 50 lbs. safely
