You'll come to love our company outings and you'll build life-long friendships.An Electrical Apprentice possesses basic knowledge of new construction and demo electrical power installation including but not limited to alterations additions and /or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment with in the electrical industry. Apprentice Electricians are responsible for planning, diagram, install, and repair electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels in addition to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit (pipe or tubing), and pull wire through conduit. Consistently test circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components, using instruments; such as the ohmmeter and other testing equipment.Responsibilities: Dig trenches or hole for installation of conduit or supports, hand holes, man holes and foundationsInstall copper-clad ground rods, using a manual post driverBreak up concrete, using air hammer, to facilitate installation, construction or repair of equipmentTransport tools, materials, equipment and supplies to work site by hand truck, or heavy motorized truckRaise, lower or position equipment tools and materials using hoist hand line or block and tackleInform Journeyman of material needsMaintain tools and equipment and keep parts and supplies in orderPerform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipmentThread conduit ends, connect couplings and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets using hand toolsDrill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power toolsClean work area and toolsYear 1 Apprentice:Must be able to interpret and follow the National Electric Code and comply with state and local building codesMust have all tools located on Apprentice Tool ListMust be enrolled or scheduled to enroll in electrical apprenticeship programMust maintain valid apprenticeship card and have it on your person at all times during work hoursMust be capable of following instructions, have good communication skills, and the ability to retain informationMust be capable of identifying materials used in the tradeCompletion of required safety trainingsRecommended completion of (16) electrical continuing education creditsMust complete OSHA 10Year 2 Apprentice:Valid Apprentice Electrician license with the State of UtahEnrolled in Electrical Apprenticeship Program - 1st year of school completed with a 'C' or better average2000+ hours electrical experience in the field documentedExpanded knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulationsProficiency in interpreting electrical diagrams and blueprintsExperience in basic electrical installations and repairsAbility to work independently under limited supervisionFamiliarity with electrical testing equipment and proceduresYear 3 Apprentice:Valid Apprentice Electrician license with the State of UtahEnrolled in Electrical Apprenticeship Program – 2nd year of school completed with a 'C' or better average4000+ hours electrical experience in the field documentedAdvanced knowledge of electrical systems, components, and their functionsExperience in complex electrical installations, repairs, and troubleshootingAbility to lead small projects and mentor less experienced apprenticesStrong understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.Proficient use of electrical tools, equipment, and testing instrumentsYear 4 Apprentice:Valid Apprentice Electrician license with the State of UtahEnrolled in Electrical Apprenticeship Program – 3rd year of school completed with a 'C' or better average6000+ hours electrical experience in the field documentedComprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, components, and their applicationsExpertise in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairsAbility to work independently on complex electrical projectsProficient troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues efficientlyExcellent understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocolsPhysical Demands & Qualifications:Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overheadAbility to hear and respond to conversations, phone calls and other soundsLift over 50 lbsStand 90% of the dayClimb laddersPossess good vision (normal or corrected)Carry material from one location to another or floor to floorLifting and work with tools above headLifting, positioning and fastening of heavy electrical equipmentLifting, positioning and fasting objects such as light fixtures, wire, conduit, junction boxes, motors and other equipmentMust be able to work from A-Frames, extension ladders, boom lift, scaffolds and aerial work platforms at various heightsIdentify and separate wires by colorDig and work in trenchesValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checkROCKY MOUNTAIN ELECTRIC CORE VALUES:*Willingness to Learn & Grow**Loyalty**Leadership**Expectation of Excellence**Professionalism*If you want to be part of something bigger than just a job – make this career move and find exactly what you're looking for.
