We’re recruiting a Head of Business Development in Boston to help a respected product innovation studio build a consistent, high-quality new client pipeline. This role suits someone who has operated as a Business Development Director, Client Partner, or Commercial Director in professional services, and wants real ownership, founder access, and a base salary of $135,000–$145,000 plus performance incentive.Scope of the RoleThe Head of Business Development is responsible for winning new client relationships and converting senior-level conversations into well-defined consulting engagements, acting as the primary owner of new business activity.Own the full business development lifecycle from targeting to closeBuild and manage a focused target account list across consumer product companiesEngage VP, GM, and C-suite stakeholders through consultative sales conversationsShape opportunities alongside senior design and engineering leadersProgress complex, long-cycle professional services dealsKey Skills and Experience RequiredProven experience as a Head of Business Development, Director of Business Development, Client Partner, or Head of New Business within consulting or professional servicesTrack record selling complex, high-value consultative services rather than standardized productsCredibility engaging senior executives and guiding long sales cyclesStrong discovery and qualification skills, including confidence to disqualify poor-fit workComfortable operating independently while partnering closely with foundersSalary and BenefitsBase salary: $135,000–$145,000Performance-based incentive tied to revenue and new client acquisitionMedical benefits, paid time off, and paid holidaysHybrid working model with regular Boston office presence expectedTravel for client meetings and selected industry eventsYou’ll join a senior, close-knit consulting team known for technical depth, creative culture, and commercially grounded outcomes.
