Restaurant & Events Manager

The Restaurant & Events Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the daily operations, guest experience, team leadership, menu performance, and financial results of Scenic View Campground Bar & Grill and Events Center. This position functions as a working manager, actively present on the floor and in the kitchen during operating hours. The Manager leads by example, ensures operational excellence, evaluates and improves menu offerings and guest experiences, and drives business development for the Events Center. This role requires strong leadership, accountability, and a guest-first mindset in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Schedule & Work Expectations Restaurant Hours: Thursday – Sunday Required Presence: Open to close on operating days Additional hours may be required for: Special events Private rentals Peak seasonal demand Staff training, planning, and event execution This is a salaried, exempt position with responsibility-based scheduling. Key Responsibilities Restaurant Operations & Guest Experience Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house operations during service Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food, beverages, and hospitality Evaluate menu performance, portioning, pricing, and guest feedback Recommend and implement menu and experience improvements with ownership Continuously assess and elevate service standards Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally Maintain company standards for cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation Team Leadership & Development Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain hourly team members Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing training initiatives Build schedules aligned with forecasted volume and events Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture Conduct performance evaluations and corrective action when necessary Financial & Business Management Manage labor costs, food costs, and controllable expenses Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for growth Oversee daily cash handling, deposits, and POS reconciliation Support inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships Assist ownership with budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives Events Center Operations & Business Development Oversee execution of: Live music and entertainment Private parties, weddings, reunions, and corporate events Campground-sponsored and seasonal programming Drive Events Center business development by: Identifying new event opportunities and revenue streams Improving event packages, pricing, and guest experiences Supporting tours, bookings, and on-site sales conversations Coordinate staffing, setup, service execution, and breakdown Serve as on-site manager during events to ensure seamless execution Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with NYS Health Department and NYS Liquor Authority regulations Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment Enforce responsible alcohol service standards Uphold company policies and procedures Qualifications & Experience Required Minimum 5 years of restaurant experience At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role Strong knowledge of FOH and BOH operations Ability to work open-to-close shifts during operating days Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Experience managing labor, food costs, and expenses Valid NYS Food Protection Certificate (or ability to obtain) Valid NYS Alcohol Training Certification (or ability to obtain) Highly Preferred ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Experience managing events, banquets, or multi-use venues Background in branded casual dining (e.g., Olive Garden, Chili’s, Applebee’s) Experience in seasonal, tourism-driven, or destination hospitality Familiarity with POS systems and scheduling software Compensation & Incentives Competitive salaried compensation, commensurate with experience Quarterly performance bonus eligibility based on owner-appointed KPIs Complimentary meals during shifts Opportunity to grow with a unique, expanding hospitality and events destination Why Scenic View Campground Bar & Grill?
