This role is critical to maintaining financial integrity, supporting leadership decision-making, and ensuring accurate, transparent financial oversight across our franchisor entity and franchise network.This is a hands-on Controller role, ideal for someone who thrives in a growing franchise environment, values precision, and understands the unique financial dynamics of franchising.What You'll DoFranchisor Accounting & CloseOwn the monthly close process, delivering accurate financial statements on timePrepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statementsReconcile all bank, credit card, loan, and clearing accountsMaintain GAAP-compliant accounting practices and clean audit trailsFranchise Royalties & Fee OversightOversee royalty billing, collections, and reconciliationsReconcile franchisee-reported revenue with system dataMonitor delinquencies, late fees, and payment plansEnsure clear, defensible, and consistent franchisee financial statementsBrand Fund & Restricted AccountsManage brand fund accounting with strict separation and transparencyTrack approved vs. actual spend and prepare regular reportsSupport FDD compliance and financial defensibilityBudgeting, Forecasting & Financial InsightSupport annual budgeting and rolling cash forecastsMonitor unit economics and cost-to-serve metricsProvide leadership with timely, decision-ready financial insightsControls, Systems & Process ImprovementMaintain internal controls, approval workflows, and accounting SOPsOwn the accounting systems and integrations (POS, payroll, franchise platforms)Reduce manual processes through automation and documentationCross-Functional SupportPartner closely with the CFO, leadership team, operations, and legalSupport audits, lender requests, and board-level reportingWhat We're Looking ForRequired5+ years of accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibilityExperience in franchising, multi-unit, or multi-entity environmentsStrong understanding of GAAP and financial controlsProven ownership of monthly close and financial reportingAdvanced proficiency with modern accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct)Ability to work independently in a remote environmentPreferredFranchise royalty and brand fund experienceHome services, multi-location, or PE-backed experienceExperience supporting audits and lender reportingCPA or CMA (preferred, not required)Key Measures of SuccessOn-time monthly close (=10 business days)Accurate, clean financial statements with minimal post-close adjustmentsStrong royalty collection health and low billing disputesTransparent, compliant brand fund reportingImproved systems, controls, and process efficiencyBenefitsHealth benefits and PTOFully remote role with a collaborative leadership teamWhy Join UsPlay a critical role in a growing franchise systemWork closely with executive leadershipBuild scalable financial systems that support long-term growthBe part of a values-driven organization focused on transparency, integrity, and franchisee successThis is a remote position.This franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee.
