Firmware Engineer

They love what we do and seek others who feel the same way.POSITION OVERVIEW:This role will involve working with internal teams, external contractors, and customers to design, launch, and support mobile industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) products used to track and monitor remote assets. This person will ensure that products, applications, and systems are properly designed and built to effectively secure, scale, and support the global customer base.RESPONSIBILITIES:Take ownership of existing suite of wireless tracking and sensing products to support and enhance them, including new feature development and integration with 3rd party hardware/softwareDesign, develop, debug, and test new productsEngage in continuous learning to keep abreast of industry developments, architectures, designs, and innovations to ensure we stay at the leading edge of the industryParticipate in schematic reviews and work collaboratively with hardware designersParticipate in code reviews and release managementParticipate in the development of design documentation, user guides, and product support materialsMaintain deep hands-on technical knowledge of our hardware and software productsPREFERRED PROFILE:5+ years of experience in C programming on ARM 32-bit processors (STM32 preferred)Mastery of test equipment including digital storage oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers,VNA, Saleae logic analyzers, National Instruments DAQDemonstrated experience developing FW for battery-powered wireless devicesEqually comfortable with RTOS and bare-metal developmentMust have mastery of communication protocols including UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and ModbusDeep knowledge of, and experience with, radio modules including cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa, etc.Experience implementing firmware security features and encryption schemesWorking knowledge of agile development, scrum, and Application Lifecycle ManagementExperience using various source control and management tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira, and GitExperience with project tracking tools such as JIRAAnalytical mind and problem-solving aptitudeHistory of working on products deployed globally in significant volumeKnowledge and experience in sensor technology and products including temperature, humidity, pressure, accelerometers, light sensors, gas sensors, cameras, microphonesExperience with radio modules from Silicon Labs and/or NordicExperience with IAR EW for Arm, Simplicity Studio, WaveForms, LabVIEW, MATLABExperience with GUI development in C# on the Windows platformExperience with product safety and emissions certificationsDemonstrated knowledge of product integration with cloud architectures, specifically Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWSExperience with geospatial mapping systems and APIsProject management and leadership experiencePossession of, or ability to obtain, a TS security clearance.BSc/BA/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field preferredLOCATION: Dallas/Fort Worth, TXJob ID# 2345783Artemis invites you to subscribe to our free Job Alerts and " The Hunt " Blog for free insights on hiring and career development.
