This role is responsible for ensuring proper specimen collection, handling, documentation, and transport in accordance with established laboratory protocols. The position also supports in-house phlebotomy operations and assists with customer service-related duties as needed.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws on patients of all age groups using proper techniquesTravel to assigned locations and ensure timely transport of specimens to the hospitalVerify specimen labeling, documentation, and resolve any discrepanciesEnter lab orders into the system (HIS/EPIC Beaker) and ensure accurate processingPrepare, label, and distribute specimens to appropriate laboratory departmentsManage STAT and scheduled specimen pickups and coordinate courier servicesAnswer outreach calls and provide timely, accurate customer supportMaintain documentation for shift communication and follow-up itemsPrepare and deliver supplies to client locations and track inventorySubmit daily mileage reportsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety protocolsEducation & Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPhlebotomy Certification preferred1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferredValid NYS driver's license and proof of auto insurance requiredPrevious healthcare experience preferredBasic computer skills required (EPIC Beaker a plus)Ability to type 35 WPM preferredMedical terminology knowledge preferredCore CompetenciesAbility to work independentlyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication with internal and external customersAdaptability and teamworkHigh level of integrity and confidentialityAbility to remain composed under stressPhysical / Work Environment RequirementsManual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for safe blood drawsAbility to stand and remain active for extended periodsAbility to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focusExposure to chemicals and adherence to safety protocolsAbility to maintain a clean and safe work environmentBenefitsHealth, Dental, VisionPTO401kMileage reimbursementMedical Solutions Direct Hire Job ID #1076340.About Medical Solutions Direct HireAt Medical Solutions, we're people who care, helping people who care.
