Java Developer (Equities - Prime Services)

Java DevelopersOur client is seeking experienced Java Developers to design and build a scalable, high-performance automated locates platform for their securities finance business. You will develop distributed, enterprise-grade applications using modern Java frameworks, cloud technologies, and microservices architecture in a collaborative equities environment.Responsibilities & QualificationsDesign and develop scalable, high-performance systems for securities finance automation, including the automated locates platformBuild distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring frameworks, Docker, and KubernetesDevelop and optimize SQL-based data models and queries for high-volume transactional systems across relational databasesIntegrate with messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, SQS, SNS) and Redis caching solutions for real-time data processingImplement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services and microservices architectureCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing securities finance workflows and legacy systemsLeverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude) to enhance code quality and productivityMentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to maintain high standardsRequirements8-10 years of professional Java development experience with deep expertise in Core Java and Spring frameworksStrong proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture patternsExpert-level SQL skills and relational database design experience with MS SQL and/or MySQLHands-on experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka, MQ) and AWS messaging services (SQS, SNS)Proven experience with Redis caching and AWS cloud services in production environmentsStrong understanding of high-performance, scalable system design for financial services or similarly demanding domainsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience; familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus
