Embedded Developer – Bluetooth ExpertiseLocation: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Embedded Developer with Bluetooth expertise to join the VROS BSP Scale team, supporting next-generation VR headset development. The team focuses on low-level system software, including bootloader, device tree, kernel configuration, kernel drivers, HAL, device security, and provisioning. You will collaborate with SoC/component vendors, hardware teams, manufacturing engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to deliver high-performance embedded solutions.Experience NeededExperience working with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth products on Android.Understanding of wpa_supplicant, hostapd, and libnl.Experience debugging complex low-level kernel driver, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth firmware issues.Experience with wireless packet capture and analysis.Experience setting up wireless test automation and development environments.Programming experience in JavaScript or Python.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement components across all layers of the system, including:KernelSynchronization primitivesResource allocatorsMemory managementSecurityI/O systemsPersistenceDesign and implement drivers and services optimized for constrained environments while delivering high bandwidth and low-latency performance.Lead hardware bring-up, peripheral driver development, silicon integration, power management, and performance optimization.Debug complex, multi-layer system issues spanning kernel, firmware, and application layers.Profile system performance and drive optimizations across the software stack.Bring up new devices and lead debugging and performance tuning across hardware, firmware, and software teams.Integrate software components from partner teams into the unified product codebase and support their ongoing development.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.6+ years of software engineering experience in:Device driver developmentEmbedded systemsOperating systems6+ years of experience working on large-scale C/C++ codebases.Strong experience with Android BSP development.2+ years of experience defining and driving technical workstreams and providing technical leadership.Experience with software development processes, including source control, bug tracking, and design documentation.Experience with hardware bring-up using interfaces such as:ADCGPIOSPII2CExperience in one or more of the following areas:BSP (Board Support Package)Operating SystemsAndroid OSRTOSBootloaderPower ManagementLinuxGraphics and Display DriversMCU (Microcontroller)Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large codebases across multiple platforms and tools.Preferred QualificationsDeep expertise in two or more of the following areas:BSP (Board Support Package)Operating SystemsCoreOSKernelAndroid KernelBootloaderPower ManagementRTOSLinuxGraphics and Display DriversMCU (Microcontroller)Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
