*Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the futureAs a Lead Liferay Developer – Java/React (onsite) you will make an impact as the primary point of contact for all Life domain-related queries and issues. You will be a valued member of the team and work collaboratively with management, team members and client.Based on this role's business requirements, this is hybrid position. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.Location:Milwaukee, Wisconsin / ChicagoRole & ResponsibilitiesFront-End DevelopmentDevelop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React and BootstrapBuild reusable UI components and manage state using React Hooks or state-management librariesIntegrate front-end components with REST APIsEnsure cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and performance optimizationCollaborate with UX/UI teams to translate wireframes and design prototypes into functional interfacesLiferay Portal DevelopmentDevelop and customize Liferay React modules and themes.Configure Liferay pages, permissions, roles, and site structuresIntegrate Liferay with external systems using REST APIsTroubleshoot and optimize Liferay portal.Back-End Development (Java & Spring Boot)Design and develop scalable RESTful services using Java and Spring BootImplement business logic, data validation, and error handlingIntegrate with databases and external servicesWrite unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworksRequired Skills8+ years of experience working with Liferay DXP. Need to know Liferay DXP 7.4 with experience in ReactJS & Spring Boot.Solid expertise in Liferay Portal development, including customization of Liferay React modules/themes, page configuration, roles, permissions, and site structuresStrong hands-on experience in Front-End Development using React, including modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap for responsive UI developmentStrong back-end development experience using Java and Spring Boot to design and implement scalable RESTful servicesGood understanding of cross-browser compatibility, accessibility standards, and performance optimization for enterprise web applicationsApplications will be accepted until 03/15/2026.The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 – $140,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.BenefitsMedical/Dental/Vision/Life InsurancePaid holidays plus Paid Time Off401(k) plan and contributionsLong-term/Short-term DisabilityPaid Parental LeaveEmployee Stock Purchase PlanDisclaimer: The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
