Electrical Design Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating a complete electrical design package, including BOM, layout, loop wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams. We prioritize technical excellence and cultivate a collaborative environment for independent and team-based work, reflecting our commitment to professional growth and providing forward-thinking solutions to clients.ResponsibilitiesUnderstands automation and electrical components to meet customer specifications, application requirements, and industrial standardsDesigns custom control panels, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, and one-line power distribution drawingsConducts IO checkout and validationPerforms enclosure FLA and heat dissipation calculationsCreates and maintains AutoCAD Electrical templates, blocks, and symbols libraryOrganizes and maintains project drawings and technical documentationResearches components and identifies electrical requirements from data sheets/manualsManages time effectively across multiple projectsRequirementsMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field/equivalent relevant experience (3.4 GPA minimum)3+ years of relevant experienceFamiliar with electrical symbols, understanding electrical schematics, and designing power & control circuitsExperience with electrical design software (preferably AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, EPlan or SolidWorks Electrical)Working knowledge of standard automation instrumentation (PLCs, IO Modules, VFDs, Motors, etc.) and industrial communication networksAbility to size, identify and select electrical components (breakers, fuses, VFDs, disconnects, etc.) per project specificationsFamiliar with North American electrical code and standards with the ability to apply them to electrical project specifications with some supervision.Ability to manage projects from specification to quality control with minimal supervisionKnowledge of panel design from DC to 480V systemsCapable of occasional travelITAR RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at DMC must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158.Additional Information:Benefits/Culture/Bonuses and More!Office LocationsDMC WebsiteEngineering BlogsAdditional Career OpportunitiesStarting compensation is based on industry, experience, and location.5+ years of relevant experience can exceed $120,000+1-3 Years of Relevant Experience$90,000—$100,000 USD3-5+ Years of Relevant Experience$100,000—$120,000 USD
