Medical Billing & Prior Authorization Specialist (Part-Time) Lancaster Plastic Surgery AssociatesWe are a small but growing private plastic surgery practice looking for a part-time Medical Billing & Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable navigating the day-to-day of insurance billing and authorizations.We truly value clear communication, teamwork, and making the financial side of care as smooth and stress-free as possible for our patients.What You’ll DoSubmit and follow insurance claims for surgical and office proceduresManage prior authorizations from start to finishFollow up on denials, unpaid claims, and appealsVerify insurance benefits and eligibilityPost payments and maintain accurate accountsCommunicate with insurance companies to ensure proper reimbursementAnswer patient billing questions in a clear, friendly mannerMaintain organized, HIPAA-compliant documentationApply appropriate modifiers and troubleshoot denied claims, offering insight and suggestionsProvide flexible cross-coverage support for front desk operations as neededWork closely with our team to keep workflows running smoothlyWhat We’re Looking ForMedical billing experience requiredPlastic surgery or dermatology experience preferredPrior authorization experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and insurance workflowsThis is not a coding role. Physicians and APPs perform coding.
