Datacenter Technician
is looking for a Level 2/3 and a Level 4 DC Power Central Office Technician (CO Technician). These are immediate need positions. We are ready to interview quickly and hire quickly.Current work is in the Portland Maine area and extending outward up to 200 miles at times. Must be willing and able to drive to the more remote locations. Some overnight stays possible, but on a very limited basis. Must have your own hand tools, fiberglass ladder(a plus, but not a priority) and reliable transportation. Day and night work possible.Final rate will be dependent on experience certifications, training and other job related conditions. We are open to people above this range if they have heavy DC Power experience.The technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of telecommunications equipment within Central Office (CO), headend, switching, and data center environments. This role supports fiber optic, transport, power, switching, and network infrastructure systems critical to telecommunications and broadband operations. Special emphasis on DC Power installations to include all power cabling, rack and BDFB installs.The ideal candidate will have experience working in live telecom environments, performing equipment installations, running and dressing cable, terminating fiber and copper, testing circuits, and supporting network turn-up activities while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Central offices house switching and fiber infrastructure critical to telecom networks.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Install, test, turn-up, and maintain telecommunications equipment within Central Office and network environmentsInstall and secure equipment bays, racks, ladder rack, fiber trough, and cable management systemsRun, dress, terminate, and label fiber optic and copper cablingPerform fiber testing including OTDR, power meter, and continuity testingInstall and troubleshoot DC power systems, fuse panels, and grounding systemsSupport switch installations, transport equipment, routers, and network hardware integrationRead and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation specificationsPerform equipment migrations, upgrades, decommissions, and cutover activitiesMaintain proper documentation, test results, and closeout packagesWork safely in live network environments while adhering to customer and OSHA safety requirementsCoordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to complete projects on scheduleQualifications 2+ years of telecommunications- Central Office, Data center, NOC experience preferredExperience with DC Power installation, testing, and troubleshootingFamiliarity with telecom transport, switching, or data center environmentsExperience installing telecom equipment bays, racks, and cable management systemsAbility to read telecom engineering drawings and wiring diagramsKnowledge of DC power systems and grounding practices preferredExperience with Fujitsu, Nokia, Ciena, Cisco, Adtran, Calix, or similar telecom equipment is a plusAbility to use hand tools, test equipment, and fiber testing toolsStrong troubleshooting and organizational skillsValid Driver’s License requiredPreferred Certifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30Fiber Optic Technician CertificationCPR / First AidDC Power CertificationManufacturer-specific telecom trainingWorking Conditions Work performed inside Central Offices, headends, data centers, and telecom facilitiesMay require lifting up to 50 poundsAbility to work nights, weekends, maintenance windows, and emergency schedules as neededTravel may be required depending on project locationCommon Equipment & Systems Fiber Optic SystemsDWDM / Transport EquipmentRouters & SwitchesDC Power PlantsBattery Backup SystemsSONET / Ethernet / IP TransportTelecom Racks & Bay InstallationsBenefits (employee contribution):Health insuranceHealth savings accountDental insuranceVision insuranceFlexible spending accountsLife insuranceRetirement plan
