Position Summary:
The Controller will oversee all financial activities within the company, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role will involve developing and implementing financial strategies, managing the accounting department, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Oversee all banking/treasury and accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Provide analysis and commentary on financial performance and variances.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process. Develop financial models and scenarios to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including tax laws, GAAP, and industry-specific standards. Manage external audits and implement recommendations for improvement.
Cost Management: Analyze manufacturing, sales, and retail costs, monitor expense trends, and implement cost control measures to improve profitability.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team. Oversee training, performance evaluations, and professional development to foster a high-performing finance department.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis: Provide actionable insights based on financial analysis. Support senior management with data-driven recommendations and strategic financial planning.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Project support: Work with cross-functional teams to support business growth initiatives and multi-stakeholder projects
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting and financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior role. Experience in a manufacturing or retail environment is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Netsuite, Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Pages, Docs), and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
